The current co-owner of Triple Island Cheese, Rodger learned cheesemaking from the previous owner, at their facilities in rural Cherryville. The Wohlgemuths bought the business in 2021, and have continued the production of the same popular aged cheeses.
Cheese can be of many types, depending on several factors such as the source of milk and the fermentation culture. The Wohlgemuths produce 3 traditionally Dutch types of cheese from raw (unpasteurized) cow’s milk, with variations created by incorporating herbs and spices while it is still fresh and soft.
